We've Entered Data, Now What?

Once we've entered data into Aspen for students the next step is to analyze the data. We can analyze data for individual students, a class of students, the grade level or the entire school. We'll use Aspen's query tools and quick charts for some simple analysis.

How to Build a Query to View Running Records

Aspen has some very powerful query tools to review assessment data. The query tool in Aspen is a powerful tool and allows us to search through and filter a wide range of data sets.   I will attempt to share how to build a query, save a query and build some advanced queries within Aspen. In the following example, we will review how to build a date range query in our running record data. In this example, we're trying to view running record data in the school view from the administration of the running records that took place from 02.28.2018 to 06.30.2018. The video below illustrates the step-by-step process of building the query.

Once the data has been filtered you can further define the query, build some quick charts or export the data to be further analyzed in Google Sheets. Click on the image below to access the print directions for running a query in Aspen.
